Generally, the first symptom of breast cancer is a lump in your breast or underarm that doesn’t go away after your period. Lumps related to breast cancer are usually painless, although some may cause a prickly feeling. Lumps are generally observable on a mammogram much earlier than you can see or feel them.
Though lumps are generally painless, tenderness and pain may occur due to breast cancer.
There can be any change in the size or shape of your breast like one breast may become larger or lower than the other.
Any change in skin texture like puckering or dimpling of the skin of the breast might be a sign of breast cancer.
The breast might be red or inflamed.

There may be unusual heat in one of your breasts.
Rash or crusting of the nipple or surrounding area may occur due to breast cancer.
Swelling in your armpit or collarbone could indicate the spread of cancer to lymph nodes in that area. Usually, swelling occurs prior to you notice any lump. Swelling in the breast can be due to an aggressive type of cancer known as inflammatory breast cancer.
This can be a tumor that you can’t notice.
You may notice an unusual discharge from the nipple. The discharge could be clear, bloody, or another color.
